Growing up among the vineyards of southern France, I’ve always had a passion for wine. From a young age, I learned about the various grape varieties and the art of winemaking from my family, who had been producing wine for generations. That early exposure ignited my love for all things wine-related and inspired me to become a long-term traveler, exploring the world’s most renowned wine regions. And what can I say, Croatia’s wine scene has truly captured my heart.

In this post, I’ll be sharing my recommendations for the top 8 wine tours in Croatia. I’ve had the pleasure of exploring various wine regions across the country, from the stunning island of Hvar to the beauty of Istria. I’ve met passionate winemakers, tasted delicious wines, and learned about Croatia’s rich history of wine production. So, if you’re ready to discover the best wine tours in Croatia, join me on this journey of exploration!

1) Hvar Private Wine Tasting Tour

If you are looking for a must-do tour in Croatia, I highly recommend the Hvar Island Wine Tasting Tour. This tour is a great way to explore the island’s interior and learn about the unique winemaking process that takes place on Hvar.

The tour begins with a scenic drive through picturesque villages and lavender fields on the way to Jelsa. Along the way, you can take in breathtaking viewpoints and even visit an abandoned village. When I did the tour, the only minor quibble was that the vehicle space was a bit tight, but that’s a small price to pay for such a fantastic experience.Explore the Island’s Interior and Learn About the Winemaking Process That Takes Place on Hvar

Tea, the tour guide, is a lot of fun and incredibly knowledgeable about the island and its winemaking history. She led the tour with enthusiasm and a good sense of humor, making it a memorable experience!

The wine tasting itself is held at a local winery, where you’ll get to learn about the unique winemaking process that takes place on Hvar. The wine and olive oils were all amazing, and the wine-tasting experience was generous and unique to the island. The winery hostess was personable and welcoming, making the tasting even more enjoyable!
