How Giving Getaway Was Born

Hi, I’m Chris, the founder and sole proprietor of Giving Getaway. I started this project in 2019 because I believe that travel is not just about seeing new places, but also about making a difference.

My passion for travel started during a six-week road trip through the USA and Canada. Since then, I’ve been continuously exploring new corners of the world and changing countries every few months since June 2020. Along the way, I’ve discovered that travel can be a powerful force for good, and I’ve made it my mission to create a community of like-minded travelers who want to make a positive impact on the world.

I believe that by sharing our knowledge and experiences, we can help each other travel responsibly and for a purpose. Giving Getaway is my way of connecting travelers with the resources they need to make a difference while exploring the world.

Past and Present Charity Projects

Giving Getaway has made a positive impact on the world through successful charity events. One of the most significant campaigns was the 2021 Christmas gift drive for kids and teenagers in a children’s home in Montenegro. With the help and support of many people, I was able to bring some wonderful Christmas moments to these kids and teenagers.

In 2020 I also donated 12 packages worth 320€ to a Christmas charity campaign in Germany by assembling packages for every completed questionnaire, and made a total donation of 200 AUD to WIRES Wildlife Rescue after the catastrophic fires in Australia.
